At Hindalco, quality, safety, and environmental consciousness is implemented in all our projects. Our greenfield projects are examples of world-class processes and safe work conditions. Site work on all the greenfield projects has gained momentum and are in various stages of progress.
The Corporate Projects and Procurement Cell, Mumbai, is the central and nodal cell for the evaluation, monitoring, control and implementation of all greenfield expansion projects and for procurement of major raw materials for all units of Hindalco.

Mahan Aluminium Project, Madhya Pradesh - Ramp up under progress
Mahan smelter project comprises 360 KTPA Aluminium Smelter, along with 900 MW captive power plant. Located in Bargawan, Madhya Pradesh this state of the art facility has already started production and is ramping up as per the schedule.
Aditya Aluminium, Odisha - Ramp up under progress
Aditya Aluminium is a Smelter-Power plant complex at Lapanga in Sambalpur district of Orissa with 360,000 tonnes smelter supported by a 6 x 150 MW coal based captive power. Like Mahan this also employs AP 36 technology supplied by Aluminium Pechiney.
Utkal Alumina Project, Odisha
Utkal lumina Refinery project in Rayagada district of Orissa comprises of a 1.5 MTPA Alumina Refinery, Bauxite mines (Baphlimali) with reserves lasting for over 25 years, captive co-generation power plant of 90 MW. The alumina refinery UAIL, a 100% subsidiary of the Company has been operational. The trial run production has already commenced. The output from UAIL would be sufficient to feed alumina to the Mahan and the Aditya Smelters.
Jharkhand Aluminium Project, Jharkhand
This project, comprising a smelter-power plant complex, has a capacity of 359ktpa and is powered by a 900MW captive thermal power plant.
