Hindalco's integrated
complex at Renukoot in India houses an alumina
refinery, aluminium smelter and facilities for
production of semi-fabricated products. Power
is sourced from our Renusagar power plant, located
at a distance of about 40 km from Renukoot.
The captive power plant located at Renusagar
in Uttar Pradesh has 10 power generating units
and has a current generation capacity of 742
MW. Excellent operational standards have ensured
a consistent plant load factor of over 90 per
cent.
The integrated complex at Renukoot also houses
a co-generation plant of 37.5 MW capacity. A
new co-generation plant of 41 MW capacity has
been commissioned to meet the requirements of
the enhanced capacities, post the expansion.
Hindalco has two smelters, one located at Hirakud
in Orissa, India with a captive power plant
and coal mines, and the other at Alupuram in
Kerala, India. We also have two sheet plants
at Belur, West Bengal, and Taloja, Maharashtra,
India and an extrusions unit at Alupuram. Hindalco's
two DSIR recognised R&D centres are located
at Belgaum and Taloja, India.
Project activities are in the full swing to
increase the smelter capacity at Hirakud to
100,000 tonnes, with a doubling of captive power
generation, as well as an additional 100 MW
power plant.
