Our People
Ayushi Raina was born and brought up in Jammu. At 17, left home to pursue engineering, followed by an MBA. Since joining Hindalco, Ayushi worked across the manufacturing, retail, and pulp and fibre businesses.
Ayushi’s journey has been one of resilience and adaptability. Her first full-time role at Hindalco’s Mouda unit was a baptism by fire. It was during the time of COVID. Ayushi knew neither the language nor the culture nor how to manage a union, but she managed to pull it off. She credits her mentors for backing her to the hilt even when she doubted herself.
In 2021, Ayushi married an army officer. This could have meant the end of her career, but Hindalco offered her a core HR role in Young Talent Management. Moreover, she was given the flexibility to work from anywhere in India, depending on her husband’s posting. So far, Ayushi has operated from Roorkee, Prayagraj, Pune, Mhow, Jammu, Kolkata and Gangtok. She has travelled to thrice those number of places to recruit fresh talent from campuses.
“Being an army wife isn’t easy, but I’ve been lucky to have bosses who trusted me and supported me,” she says. Ayushi believes that the person who entered the manufacturing unit two years ago is not the same person who left. “I owe that growth to the support I received and the challenges I overcame," she says.
