Our People
After 8 years of leaving the army, Colonel Gaurav Chaturvedi faced the common challenge many soldiers encounter—adjusting to life outside the structured and purpose-driven world of the armed forces. However, Hindalco’s Mahan Aluminium plant in Madhya Pradesh helped him discover a renewed sense of purpose and belonging in a community. He describes it as “inclusive, positive and fostering growth”. Moving there in February 2024 was a turning point, inspiring him to get back to a disciplined lifestyle, starting each day with 10 km runs. “Fitness here is not just physical—it’s a mental shift,” he explains, crediting Mahan for sharpening his focus and helping him rediscover balance.
The spiritual energy and natural beauty of Mahan have been transformative. Surrounded by Neelkanths, migratory birds and vibrant wildlife, he’s rekindled his passion for photography, capturing the essence of this extraordinary environment. Adventure remains a vital part of his life, with weekends spent exploring untouched destinations on his Triumph Tiger or Bullet 350. Equipped with drones, he documents these journeys, adding a creative dimension to his love for the outdoors.
Mahan has also provided new opportunities to give back. As a motivational speaker in women’s safety sessions organised by the Learning and Development team, he’s found ways to inspire others while staying true to his values. “Mahan has given me the ecosystem to embrace challenges, build skills and reconnect with who I strive to be,” he reflects, and helped him find growth and fulfilment in every aspect of life, from adventure and fitness to community and personal growth.
