When the weighing scale showed 103 kg, Kaushik Panja decided enough was enough. Years of neglect had taken its toll: breathlessness after climbing stairs, sluggish days and clothes that no longer fit. It was at Hindalco’s Wellness Champion meeting in Mumbai in February 2024 that the realisation hit. Inspired to lead by example, he began a 100-day journey that would see him lose 25kg and transform his life.
The journey required a complete mindset shift. He adopted a calorie-deficit diet, focusing on portion control, protein-rich meals, and fibre to fuel his workouts and improve digestion. Sugary snacks and processed foods were replaced with wholesome alternatives, while meal planning became the norm.
Strength training became the foundation of his weight-loss journey, with full-body workouts, squats, deadlifts, and bench presses building muscle and boosting metabolism. Rest and recovery were equally prioritised, with the understanding that progress was made both in the gym and in moments of rest.
Discipline was the glue that held it together. On days when motivation waned, consistency kept him going. By the end of 100 days, he had not only achieved his goal but inspired others at Oshapada township gym in Utkal Alumina. Colleagues like Debi Nayak shed 10 kg, and Gaurav Patel joined as a regular gym partner, creating a ripple effect of change.
For Kaushik, the real challenge began after weight loss: maintaining balance and discipline for life. Today, he stands stronger, healthier and prouder, not just for losing 25 kg but for proving that change is possible with patience and determination.
His story is about more than weight loss. It’s proof that a single decision can lead to a lifetime of strength.
